Snarestone tunnel (250 yards)
This 250 yard tunnel goes under the village of Snarestone in Leicestershire and was opened in 1804. It is one way only and has a kink in it which is unusual for canal tunnels. It is the only tunnel on the Ashby canal which also has no locks.
